FPSC's Consolidated Advertisement No. 04/2026, which we call Phase-4/2026, lists 54 posts across 48 cases, with 278 vacancies in all. Unlike most advertisements, it came out before FPSC published the syllabus and test pattern for its posts. So for now you can read each post's qualifications, age limit and quota, but not its paper.
Every post has its own page on our Phase-4/2026 syllabus list, with the advertisement's details as printed. Each page will add its syllabus once FPSC publishes it.
Key takeaways
- 54 posts, 48 cases, 278 vacancies. One post, Assistant Audit Officer, has 160 of them.
- The posts run from BS-16 to BS-20; most are BS-17.
- FPSC has not published the syllabus or test pattern yet. Do not trust a paper pattern for these posts until it does.
- If Phase-4 follows Phase-3/2026, most papers will have an English part: in Phase-3, 88 of 91 papers did. That is the safe place to start.
What is in the advertisement
By pay scale, the 54 posts are 12 at BS-16, 23 at BS-17, 8 at BS-18, 4 at BS-19 and 7 at BS-20. The largest openings are:
| Post | Scale | Vacancies |
|---|---|---|
| Assistant Audit Officer, Office of the Auditor General of Pakistan | BS-17 | 160 |
| Demonstrator | BS-17 | 25 |
| Research Officer / Planning Officer / Survey Officer | BS-17 | 12 |
| Nurse, Ministry of Defence | BS-16 | 10 |
The rest are mostly single posts. They include six Professor posts and two Associate Professor posts in medical specialties at PIMS Islamabad (for example Professor (A) Cardiac Surgery); research and planning officers across the Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives and in Gilgit-Baltistan; engineering posts in the Ministry of Railways; ordnance and security posts in the Ministry of Defence; and a Chief Psychologist and an Assistant Director (Web Development). The six Professor posts are re-advertised from Advertisement No. 03/2026.
What is not out yet
For every Phase-4 post, FPSC has not yet published:
- the syllabus of the post's test;
- the test pattern: marks, duration, negative marking and passing rule.
The advertisement says FPSC will issue the syllabus and test schedule on its website. Until it does, any paper pattern you see for these posts is a guess. Our pages say so plainly, and they will show the syllabus as soon as FPSC releases it.
What you can safely do now
Check your eligibility first. Each post's page lists the qualifications, experience, age limit, domicile quota and place of posting exactly as the advertisement prints them. Long qualification texts are split into their numbered points so you can check each one.
Start on English. In the previous advertisement, Phase-3/2026, 88 of the 91 posts had an English section in their paper, usually 20 marks out of 100. FPSC has not confirmed this for Phase-4, but English is the part least likely to be wasted effort.
Practice the format on a similar Phase-3 post. Phase-3/2026 posts have published syllabi and full mocks. Some are close to Phase-4 posts:
- Phase-4 Nurse → Phase-3 Nurse and Charge Nurse.
- Phase-4 Assistant Director (Web Development) → Phase-3 Programmer.
- Phase-4 Assistant Director Legal → Phase-3 Assistant Director (Legal).
A Phase-3 mock gives you the FPSC format: timed MCQs, a quarter of a mark lost per wrong answer, and a pass rule. For how that format works, read the FPSC MCQ test: marks, negative marking and passing.
Save your post. On Mock CSS you can save up to ten FPSC and PPSC posts, so the post is one tap away when its syllabus arrives.
Frequently asked questions
FPSC has not said. The advertisement says the syllabus and test schedule will be issued on FPSC's website. Each post's page on Mock CSS adds its syllabus once it is out.
FPSC has not published the test pattern for these posts yet. In Phase-3/2026, every post lost 0.25 marks per wrong answer, but that is not a promise for Phase-4.
Not for the post itself: mocks are built from a post's syllabus. You can practice a similar Phase-3/2026 post now, and the English part, which most FPSC papers share.
On FPSC's own website. Mock CSS is a preparation platform and is not connected to FPSC. Check FPSC's official notice for anything you rely on to apply.
