CSS MPT Syllabus 2026 and Marks Distribution

The CSS MPT screening test has 200 questions across five sections (Islamic Studies, Urdu, English, General Abilities, General Knowledge) with a 33% (66/200) pass mark. Every question in the bank is mapped to one of the sub-sections below, matching the official FPSC weightages.

Beliefs, Worship & Fiqh

The core articles of faith (Aqaid), the five pillars of Islam, and the essentials of Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh) governing worship, ethics, and daily conduct.

Central themes and teachings of the Holy Quran, alongside foundational Hadith literature and its role in shaping Islamic law, ethics, and everyday practice.

Grammar & Structure (قواعد)

Parts of speech, sentence construction, tenses, and correct usage rules, tested through error-identification, correction, and fill-in-the-blank style questions.

Vocabulary & Idioms

Word meanings, synonyms and antonyms, and common idiomatic expressions (محاورے) and proverbs (کہاوتیں) used in everyday and literary Urdu.

Translation & Paragraph Context

Translating short passages between Urdu and English, and answering comprehension questions based on a given paragraph.

Literature & Poetry

Familiarity with major Urdu poets and prose writers, key literary movements, and interpretation of short poetic and prose extracts.

Grammar & Sentence Structure

Parts of speech, tenses, sentence correction, and identifying grammatical errors within a given sentence.

Vocabulary

Synonyms, antonyms, word meanings in context, and correct usage of commonly confused words.

Reading Comprehension

Answering questions based on a given passage: testing inference, main-idea identification, and recall of specific detail.

Arithmetic

Percentages, ratios, profit & loss, averages, time-speed-distance, and other numerical word problems.

Algebra

Equations, algebraic expressions, exponents, and basic algebraic manipulation and simplification.

Geometry

Properties of shapes and angles, area and perimeter calculations, and basic coordinate geometry.

4.4

Logical & Analytical Reasoning

Syllogisms, pattern recognition, series completion, and deductive and inductive reasoning puzzles.

4.5

Mental Abilities

Quick numerical and verbal reasoning under time pressure: number series, coding-decoding, and basic spatial reasoning.

Physical and political geography of Pakistan and the world, including major landforms, countries, and capitals.

Computer hardware and software fundamentals, networking and the internet, and everyday terminology around AI and data.

GK / World Trivia

World literature, mythology and comparative religion, foreign-language idioms and word origins, and everyday economics and finance terminology.
